Research says that One in seven or eight men are victims of domestic violence. As a researcher and an advocate for nearly four decades – I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s equal. One in every six men is sexually abused. However, men do not usually report it, therefore, the statistical data is not quite accurate. Because of this fact, there is no urgency for people to help us with shelter for men, although we are trying and believe we will succeed.
Currently, the Nashville Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army are your two bets. You can also contact MaleSurvivor.org and/or 1in6.org for navigating their resources.
We do offer counseling here with Pastor David Ashley.
